Chair of the Trustees

Gary was voted in as the Chair of Trustees in February 2018.

Gary is a partner and Head of Capsticks Business Solutions at Capsticks Solicitors LLP. He specialises in providing strategic workforce, employment law and HR support to the public and not-for-profit sectors.

Gary has been a member of the Capsticks’ strategic board for many years and previously served on the Board of Weightmans solicitors for four years. He is closely involved in the firm’s initiatives to understand and work more closely with clients in its chosen markets, as well as in the internal management and strategic planning of the business.

Gary has extensive experience of handling a wide range of HR litigation, from routine unfair dismissals through to complex discrimination cases. He also advises on a range of non-contentious issues, from contract and policy drafting through to TUPE and pensions advice.

Gary is a recognised expert in all aspects of discrimination law and provides high level advice on whistleblowing cases. Gary also provides internal support on handling complex disciplinaries, grievances and senior level terminations. Lastly, as head of the firm’s consultancy arm, he is also expert in providing training and strategic HR advice and works closely with HR professionals to deliver innovative HR solutions.

Married with three children, Gary is a keen football fan – as well as playing on a weekly basis he is also a season ticket holder at Southampton FC. Gary is also a keen tennis player and a regular runner.

On the more sedentary side, Gary enjoys theatre, cinema and reading fiction – time allowing!
