To mark our big 50th birthday we are launching our 500 for 50 Challenge to cover 500 km in any way we can. Five hundred kilometres is the distance between our Centre in Surrey and our hubs in London, Oxford and Salisbury – give or take a few centimetres!
You can walk, cycle, scoot, swim, run, bounce, skip or skate any distance you like to help us reach our 500 km target. Get sponsored and raise money so that we can continue to support children and adults with dyslexia who need our help more than ever.
How to get involved
• Choose your activity based around the number five – so 5, 15, 25, 50, 500 and so on – you can do miles or kilometres, metres or yards!
• Set up your personalised fundraising page through Virgin Money Giving and we will add you to our 50:500 Challenge totaliser!
• Share your page on social media by tagging @ArkellDyslexia and using #500for50challenge. Over the weekend will track how far we get between us on social media.
The Helen Arkell staff team is taking part! Andy will cycle 150 miles, Sandra and her husband will hike 50 km around Somerset and Rachael is cycling 50 km on her new bike! That’s 372 km – how many 500 km circuits can we do between us?
If you would like to make a donation to support us you can do so here.
The only requirement is that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. Most people are taking part from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th July and you can join in wherever is convenient for you.
Thank you so much from all of us at Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity - your support means a lot to us. If you would like to get in touch please email [email protected] – we'd love to hear from you.
