Two Fundraising Challenges to Support People with Dyslexia

This year, we’re inviting supporters to take on not one, but two incredible obstacle events, helping children and adults with dyslexia access the specialist support they urgently need.

Take on the Ultimate Tough Mudder Challenge

Ready to dive into the muddiest, mightiest adventure around? Tough Mudder is the ultimate obstacle experience, built for teamwork, laughter and plenty of dirt. With no competition and no timing, it’s all about supporting your teammates to conquer the course and proudly earn the world‑famous orange headband.

Every participant receives:

  • 🏅 Finishers Medal
  • 👕 Finisher Shirt
  • 🎽 Finishers Headband
  • 🅿️ Free Parking

Search by postcode to find a Tough Mudder near you, then take part for a brilliant cause!

Bounce Your Way Through the Inflatable 5k

The Inflatable 5k, the world’s BIGGEST and most EPIC inflatable obstacle course, is coming to locations across the country. Expect giant inflatables, huge slides and plenty of giggles as you jump, bounce and slide your way to the finish.

Perfect for families, friends or solo adventurers – read more here!

  • Children aged 5–15 can take part with a paying participating adult.
  • Courses are available nationwide — simply search by postcode to find your nearest event.

By taking part in either challenge, you’ll be helping to empower people with dyslexia, funding assessments, tuition, and life‑changing support for those who need it most. Every step, slide and splash of mud helps transform lives.

National Lottery Community Fund Boosts Dyslexia Support for Disadvantaged Children and Adults

We’re delighted to share that Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity has been awarded £19,966 from The National Lottery Community Fund to support our project “Dyslexia Specialist Support for Disadvantaged People”.

Thanks to the nation’s National Lottery players, we’ll be able to provide one‑to‑one specialist support to disadvantaged children and adults who struggle with reading, writing and related learning difficulties — helping build skills, confidence and long‑term independence.

Head of Fundraising at Helen Arkell, Hazel Radnor, says: “This funding means we can reach even more people who urgently need specialist help but are unable to access it due to financial barriers.”

We can’t wait to get started and will share updates, stories and successes as the project unfolds.

💙 Thank you, National Lottery players!
