Specialist Teacher, Educational Psychologist and Course tutor

Marlene is an Educational Psychologist and Specialist Teacher. She has been a Tutor on the Level 7 Diploma Course in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia/SpLDs since 2006. She has extensive assessment and teaching experience across the age span.

Prior to joining the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, Marlene served as a Specialist Teacher and SENCo. She also worked in an academic capacity at Yale University and the Institute of Education.

She has co-authored resources with other Helen Arkell team members, including Anyone Can Spell It: A Guidebook for Teachers and Parents and the Helen Arkell Spelling Test-2.

Marlene is delighted to be affiliated with the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity with its rich and longstanding history of professional training and dyslexia support.
