Description
Many of the spelling mistakes made by the older dyslexic student (or poor speller in general) are in homophone words – that is those words having the same sound but different meaning and usually different spelling.
This checklist in no way claims to be comprehensive but it contains most of the commonly confused homophone words needed for general writing purposes. Each word is followed by:
- its general meaning or derivation in brackets.
- a brief phrase showing usage.
