Anita Haigh, MA, BSc (Hons), PGCE, Dip OCR (SpLD), SpLD APC

Anita has over 35 years’ experience in the field of education, teaching across all phases and in special education settings. She has been involved with initial teacher training programmes as a mentor, and has served as a local authority education advisor, supporting teachers in their roles. She has also worked as an associate assessor and trainer with Unicef UK’s Rights Respecting Schools education programme.

Anita has worked with the Helen Arkell charity for 5 years having qualified as a Specialist Teacher and Assessor. She has tutored and lectured on the Level 5 and 7 courses and continues to conduct diagnostic assessments, offer specialist tuition and lead parent workshops and in-service training in schools. In addition, she offers advice to parents and educators about how best to support children and young people to develop their talents and abilities to the full, and to understand the challenges they face in order to provide the most effective support.

Anita is delighted to be part of the HADC team and to support its vital work in helping to remove barriers to learning and to open up life opportunities.
