Claire Shestopal LLB (Hons), PGDip in Legal Practice, Dip OCR SpLD, SpLD APC
Course tutor
Claire Shestopal is a tutor on our Level 5 Teaching Learners with Dyslexia and SpLDs and is also a specialist dyslexia assessor at our Oxford location.
During her previous career as a solicitor, Claire witnessed the impact of illiteracy on prisoners, including on the rate of reoffending. This, and a move aboard, inspired a new career in teaching.
Having trained at Level 5 and Level 7 at Helen Arkell, Claire has enjoyed carrying out diagnostic assessments for many years. The 2023 cohort is the seventh group that Claire has tutored for our Level 5 course and she feels that it is a real privilege to work with trainee specialist teachers and guide them through the course.
Claire has retained a keen interest in SEN Law and has completed training with IPSEA (Independent Provider of Special Education Advice) so that she can advise on their helpline and support parents in tribunals.
