Gill joined the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity in January 2011. She has a background in customer and in-house training and gained a City & Guilds qualification to teach adults after which she taught in a local sixth form college for ten years. She also has many years of experience in customer service and admin roles.

Once her children grew up, Gill decided to change her work/life balance to enable her to go on holiday out of term time. This coincided with her arrival at Helen Arkell.
