Head of Dyslexia Support
Rachael is passionate about helping students develop their independence as learners and boosting their self-confidence as they move on to the next stage of their education. Rachael is our Oxford Hub Coordinator and has taken on the new role of Head of Dyslexia Support. She is a qualified specialist teacher and assessor, and spent 10 years as Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in a specialist school for students with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. She describes the school as a wonderfully diverse community where it was a privilege to work with such bright, creative, resilient and determined young people.
Before her move to Helen Arkell in January 2020, Rachael was Head of Education at The British Dyslexia Association where she worked with schools to help develop the ways in which they support their learners with dyslexia in the classroom.
