Dyslexia Awareness Week 2022
Event date:
3 October, 2022
Event time:
10:00 AM
Event location:
Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity
Dyslexia Awareness Week is an opportunity to showcase what it means to be dyslexic – to celebrate the strengths and qualities it may bring, to consider the challenges and to provide support where needed, and to build our understanding of dyslexia.
Online talk and tips for parents
Our own Clare Roberts will be giving a free online talk on the evening for parents of children with dyslexia. Find out ways you can help your child at home and in school. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Dyslexia stories – to camera
We have asked a few of those who have benefited from our services and our bursary to talk about their dyslexia and the difference the charity has made to their lives.
The first of our videos, No Label Art’s Victoria Chikovani discussing her dyslexia and her art is available to watch here..
Our second video is from Alice Kell. Alice is a London-based illustrator studying visual communication, at the Royal College of Art. She has a keen interest in how illustration can help and support those with the learning difference dyslexia. You can watch her video here and don’t miss the comic she worked on with the staff and students at Waldegrave School.
If you have benefited from our services and would like to share your story, please get in touch.
