On completion of the whole course, you will be accredited with 18 hours’ CPD by the CPD Standards Office and issued with a certificate.

 

This is a very practical course for teaching assistants or anyone supporting learners with dyslexia or Specific Learning Difficulties.

The course comprises six three-hour sessions on Fridays from 9.30 am:

Session 1 on 19 April  Overview of Dyslexia and SpLDs
Session 2 on 26 April  Introduction to Phonological Awareness and Phonics 
Session 3 on 3 May  Learning Preferences and Multi-sensory Teaching
Session 4 on 10 May  Reading Accuracy and Comprehension
Session 5 on 17 May  Spelling and Writing
Session 6 on 24 May  Numeracy

You will be shown lots of useful, tried and tested strategies to enable you to support learners effectively. You will also have the opportunity to make attractive, practical resources that you will be able to use with your learners.

Book all the sessions together or individual sessions to suit your needs.

This course is accredited by CPD Standards Office and counts as 18 hours of CPD. There are no assignments to complete. You will receive a Helen Arkell Certificate of Attendance on completion of all sessions.

There will be a recording sent out after each so that you can watch if you booked and can’t attend the live session, or if you would like to watch again!
