Supporting Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties – October 2022

This is a very practical course for teaching assistants or anyone supporting learners with dyslexia or Specific Learning Difficulties.
The course comprises six three-hour sessions on Fridays:
| Session 1 on 7 Oct | Overview of Dyslexia and SpLDs |
| Session 2 on 14 Oct | Introduction to Phonological Awareness and Phonics |
| Session 3 on 21 Oct | Learning Preferences and Multi-sensory Teaching |
| Session 4 on 4 Nov | Reading Accuracy and Comprehension |
| Session 5 on 11 Nov | Spelling and Writing |
| Session 6 on 18 Nov | Numeracy |
You will be shown lots of useful, tried and tested strategies to enable you to support learners effectively. You will also have the opportunity to make attractive, practical resources that you will be able to use with your learners.
This course is not accredited, so there are no assignments to complete.
You will receive a Helen Arkell Certificate of Attendance on completion of the course/session.
