Avery
Read her storyAvery's Inspiring Dyslexia Awareness Run
Avery slipped on her trainers during Dyslexia Awareness Week in October to run 5km at The Wycombe Park Run, raising funds for Helen Arkell. Diagnosed with dyslexia last year, Avery was determined to show that it’s no barrier to success. Avery raised over £160 for Helen Arkell, including Gift Aid. Congratulations Avery, you are now one of Helen’s Heroes!

Caroline

Caroline recently completed the New York Marathon and is now training for the London Marathon in April 2025. She’s raising funds for Helen Arkell and The Children’s Dyslexia Centre of New Jersey, inspired by her son George’s journey with dyslexia. Personalised tutoring reignited her love for learning and confidence. Embracing her creativity in art and storytelling, Daisy now aspires to become a psychologist, showing the potential in every child facing learning challenges.

Michelle’s journey reflects resilience and determination. Battling dyslexia and cancer, she built a successful career in beauty and medical fields – working with stem cell pioneers, managing clinics, and mastering aesthetic treatments. From hair technician to respected professional, her path shows unwavering growth. Michelle now aims to advance her medical qualifications, driven by her passion for learning and helping others.

Marc

This summer in Chamonix, Marc completed the gruelling 45km Marathon du Mont Blanc in 6 hours and 27 minutes. His drive didn’t stop there; he continued with daily hikes and runs, gaining over 26,000 meters of elevation in three days. Marc’s relentless pursuit of challenge and love for the mountains is truly inspiring and deeply motivating.

Congratulations to Alisha Wilson, dyslexia advocate and founder of ‘Reading beyond Limits’. Alisha raises awareness and funds through national and international beauty pageants, using her platform to support those struggling to access a diagnosis. She recently hosted a fundraising fashion show in collaboration with The Fashion Event UK. A champion for mental health and dyslexia support in the Kings Lynn area, Alisha is truly making a difference.
