Lunch and Learn: An Introduction to Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a type of learning difference, which affects at least 1 in 10 people in the UK. Dyslexia may well affect a number of people in your team and their wider circle of contacts, family and friends.

As the longest-standing dyslexia organisation in the UK, Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity is dedicated to spreading the word and deepening the public’s understanding of dyslexia in the workplace and beyond.

By enrolling on an online Lunch and Learn session with Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity, you will gain an insight into dyslexia, gain a deeper understanding of the daily challenges and advantages that people with dyslexia may experience and come away with useful practical hints and tips.

We are pleased to now offer these sessions free of charge.

Even if not dyslexic yourself, the Lunch and Learn session will help any workplace understand the issues experienced by colleagues who are dyslexic, alongside their strengths and attributes. The session is also a wonderful opportunity for team building and mutual understanding.

Lunch and Learn sessions will last 1 hour (including time for questions) and can take place at any time of day to suit your team. If a longer session is desired, this can also be arranged.

Whilst the sessions are free of charge, donations would be greatly appreciated, to enable the charity to do its work in supporting people with dyslexia, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

A big thank you for doing the presentation on Monday. It was well received and got some good discussion going which is exactly what we want. People particularly liked the practical challenges at the end which really brought home some of the challenges dyslexic people face.
