Dyslexia awareness training

Awareness training enables employers and employees to develop a good understanding of dyslexia and this in turn provides a network of support. Every business that employs more than 10 people will almost certainly be benefiting from employees that think differently. To maximise the benefits it is helpful for everyone to gain a greater understanding.

There are various ways to achieve this and the best one is to provide different levels of training for:

  • The whole organisation
  • Managers
  • Human Resources and Occupational Health
  • Promotion and recruitment boards
  • IT departments

We can tailor training to meet your individual needs but the following examples of content may help:

  • What is dyslexia?
  • How might dyslexia impact on particular workplace settings
  • Strengths of thinking differently
  • Adjustments in the workplace, focusing on solutions and not problems. Sometimes the simplest changes can make the greatest difference.

Feedback from managers following training:

I learnt a lot about the different ways people work and it helped me to manage others in the team.

I learnt about new ways of working. I now work much more efficiently.

The organisation, systems and structures helped the whole team.
