Dyslexia can have a significant impact on a person’s ability to engage in the workplace. However, while it can create challenges, people with dyslexia have unique skills and talents and can add real value to their employers. For instance, many dyslexic people show strengths in areas such as reasoning, and in visual and creative fields.
Drawing on her experience working in this area, Katie Harris, Senior Associate Solicitor, from Boyes Turner LLP will discuss the challenges and benefits of having dyslexia in the workplace, how employment law protects people with dyslexia, and the practical steps employers can and should be taking to better support people with dyslexia and comply with their legal obligations towards them.
