Jonathan became Headmaster at More House School, Frensham, in the summer of 2015, having spent the past eleven years teaching in the field of special educational needs. More House School provides day and boarding education for nearly 500 boys aged eight to eighteen who are intelligent but thrive in a specialist environment because of Specific Learning Difficulties, Speech and Language disorders, and associated special educational needs. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Southampton, and Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Leicester. He completed the Graduate Teacher Programme with the University of Southampton and holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

A keen church-bell ringer, Jonathan is the Ringing Master and Tower Captain at St Andrew’s, Farnham. He can still occasionally be persuaded to bring his ‘cello out of retirement for school shows. Married to Lizzy, also a teacher and a Foundation Governor at St Mary’s Church of England (Aided) Infant School, Frensham, and with two children, Jonathan is also a governor at Treloar’s School and College, Alton, which provides high-quality education and care to children and young people with physical disabilities.
