Finton House School enjoys a strong reputation as an outstanding mixed ability mainstream prep school for boys and girls aged 4 – 11. This is achieved through the expertise on site (OT, Sp&L, SEND specialists), the number of Teaching Assistants across the whole school, the experienced teaching staff and the inclusive, nurturing and happy ethos of the school.
We are seeking an experienced and exceptional SENDCo to lead the strategic development and delivery of our SEND provision. This includes working closely with the Deputy Head Academic and Deputy Head Pastoral to ensure every child in the school can make excellent academic progress and thrive personally, regardless of their ability or needs.
The role:
- Lead the SEND Department and champion inclusive practice across the school.
- Develop and implement effective SEN policy and provision in line with the Equality Act 2010 and ISI regulations.
- Manage and support a dedicated team of Learning Support staff.
- Liaise with local authorities, outside agencies, teachers, assistants, parents, and peripatetic specialists.
- Oversee SEND resources, internal assessments, and exam concessions.
- Organise annual reviews, admissions support, SEN events, and contribute to school-wide strategic planning.
The person:
- A highly experienced SENDCo or senior learning support leader with a proven track record.
- A strong communicator with excellent leadership and organisational skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and the highest standards of safeguarding.
