The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Amesbury as a One-to-One Learning Support Assistant Specialising in Autism. The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to an individual pupil, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and make excellent progress both academically and socially. This role requires patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff in a busy and supportive school environment. This role will continue for as long as the child remains at the school.

Job Specification
• Have the self-confidence, style, and communication skills to represent the school effectively to both parents and staff.
• Supporting the child in the classroom for all Literacy and Numeracy lessons and to provide appropriate language support, which will be planned by the class teacher at the pupil’s current level
• To be trained in supporting Year 2 phonics (Sounds Write Phonics Scheme) but not essential
• Support the child with therapy targets throughout the school week
• Support the child with occupational therapy targets set by the occupational therapist throughout the school week (if advised)
• To attend termly review meetings with parents, along with private therapists
• To be a good communicator and work with the child’s class teacher, the Head of Key Stage one and the Head of SEND
• To keep the child’s parents informed each week, regarding the child’s academic and pastoral support
• To support the class teacher by preparing appropriate resources to be used with the child during lessons
• During any periods when the pupil assigned to you is temporarily absent from the School, you may at the School’s discretion be asked to temporarily undertake alternative duties which fall within your capabilities, and which may reasonably be required by the Head according to the normal practice of an independent school.
• To have a strong commitment to safeguarding the pupil (and others), and work with the school’s values and ethos in mind
• To be accommodating and flexible in a changing environment, and to attend school trips with the child
• To comply with all Health and Safety Policies.

Qualifications
To be able to provide Literacy and Numeracy Support
Level 3 Helen Arkell preferred but not essential
Experience with Speech and Language therapy and Occupational Therapy Support is essential
Experience with supporting children with Autism

St Catherine’s School, Bramley, seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Peripatetic Maths Learning Support Teacher to join our Learning Support Department from September.

This is a self-employed, part-time position, initially for one day per week, with the potential for the role to expand over time.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, targeted support to pupils across the Senior School with identified learning needs. Working flexibly across year groups, you will provide specialist maths intervention to enable pupils with SEND and additional learning needs to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:
Delivering structured 1:1 maths interventions, including numeracy, reasoning, and GCSE/Sixth Form preparation
Supporting pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD and processing challenges
Contributing to individual education plans, pupil passports and EHCP reviews
Adapting resources and recommending strategies to support curriculum access
Preparing pupils for exams and supporting access arrangements
Working collaboratively with teaching staff to promote inclusive practice
Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues

The ideal candidate will:
Have strong experience supporting pupils with SEND and SpLD in maths
Demonstrate a proven ability to raise attainment and close gaps in learning
Be highly organised, adaptable, and able to work independently
Use structured, sequential approaches to teaching maths and build pupil confidence
Be committed to promoting independence and reducing maths anxiety

The role involves invoicing parents directly on a termly basis.

St Catherine’s School, Bramley is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Peripatetic Learning Support Teacher to join our Academic Mentoring Department from September.

The Peripatetic Learning Support Teacher will provide high-quality, targeted 1:1 support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and ASC, across the Senior School. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling pupils to build confidence, make strong academic progress and thrive.

Key Responsibilities include:
Deliver specialist 1:1 SEND support tailored to individual needs
Support staff with differentiation and inclusive classroom strategies
Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records (IEPs/pupil passports)
Communicate effectively with parents, including termly reports and parents’ evenings
Promote pupil confidence, independence and self-advocacy
Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times

About You
Specialist SEND qualification required (e.g. Level 5/7 SpLD, APC, NASENCO)
Experience supporting pupils across KS3–KS5, including exam access arrangements
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and inclusive pedagogy
Ability to work independently with excellent organisation and communication skills
Good working knowledge of the GCSE and A Level exams system including access arrangements
Confident using assistive technology and supporting a range of subjects

Reporting to the Prep and Secondary SENDCos, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist 1:1 tuition that enables pupils with learning difficulties to overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and independence, and make accelerated academic progress, in line with Holme Grange School’s values and commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Tutors may work with pupils across a range of age groups within the school; however, individuals are welcome to specialise in a particular age range or area of expertise, according to their professional strengths and preferences. This is a peripatetic role available on either a full-time or part-time basis, operating term-time only. Tutors may choose to offer additional sessions during school holidays, should they wish, and teaching during the school holidays
can take place in the school. Sessions are paid per lesson, and there is flexibility regarding the days and timings worked, subject to pupil need and
room availability.
